What Are Keywords And How To Use The Keyword Tag

Keywords. The basic structure of an HTML document includes tags, which surround content and apply meaning to it. The Keyword tag is not that important anymore, Google does not even use the keyword tag anymore. Watch a video from Google by Matt Cutts, Google Software Engineer on keywords, but it's still a good idea to place keywords in the keyword tag, as other search engines use the keyword tag.
Where the Keyword Tag goes:

What is a Meta Keyword Tag? Now that we've covered the all-important title tag and meta description tag, it's time to move on to the very misunderstood and abused meta tag, the meta keyword tag. Everyone knows that to obtain high search engine rankings all you have to do is put the keywords that you want to rank high with into your meta tags, right? No, Not even close! If it were that simple, everyone would be on the first page. How many of you reading this column have obsessed over meta tags such as the keyword tag? How many of you have tried putting every relevant keyword you could think of into this meta tag, only to have your site continue to be nearly invisible in the search engines? How many of you couldn't decide if you should put commas between the keywords? Spaces? No commas? ALL CAPS? Plurals?

Its easy use all small letters and place keyword phrases and keywords separated by a commas as above

The Correct Way To Use Keywords

Plan your main text content using keyword phrase's and keywords a few times, include keyword phrase's and keywords in your link text and menu's use bold and italic on the keywords in your main text, this is what will tell Google that those words or phrase's are important and Google will place your site for those search queries. Choose your relevant keywords, you can also use our keyword tool to help you. The keyword tool tells you how many monthly searches are made for the keyword and gives keyword suggestions, no point in having keywords that only 10 people a month search for. Write the site's content based on these keywords. Create a title and description tag using the same keywords, making sure to put the most important keywords first in your title and description tags. I would suggest no more than 25 keywords to a page, use the topic of each page to add different keywords, try add your main keywords to a few pages on your site.
